The GIFs are available on giphy.com/byuhawaii and other social media platforms.

PROJECT DETAILS
As part of BYU-Hawaii's effort to promote the university, I worked with the Brand Manager on making GIFs for current and future students to use on social media.
We featured fun and quirky cultural references to campus living.
Collections:
The first collection is called BYUH Spirit. This collection supports the University Spirit. Its purpose is to feature the university and its mission.

The famous David O McKay Building, an iconic structure at BYU-Hawaii, is a part of the BYUH Spirit Collection.
PROCESS
1. Research: How can we help market BYUH on social media? What social media platforms do our current students and future students use? Are GIFS something that they would use?
2. GIF Drafts: All GIFS are first drawn and designed in Adobe Illustrator, along eith the different frames of the image.

3. Import Frames to Photoshop: All layers/frames are imported to Adobe Photoshop. The different frames are separated by layers. When all layers are separated, a timeline is created where each layer appears on a particular frame.
Each frame appears for a set time (ex. 0.5 seconds per frame) until the motion or animation for the GIF is achieved.
4. Exporting and Uploading on GIPHY: After each frame is timed and the GIF motion is achieved, it is then saved as a GIF (Image - export - save for web legacy- save).
When the GIFs are finally exported, they can be uploaded on GIPHY through a GIPHY account. The GIFs will then be available for social media, depending on the privacy settings of each GIFs.
Collections:
The second collection is called #SeasiderSnack. This collection features the different Hawaiian snacks and meals available at the university's convenience store. Students can grab these snacks and meals daily, and use the GIFs to feature them on social media.

CONCLUSION
Overall, these GIFs made 1.3 million views across GIPHY and other social media platforms. Future students began using them as they share their admission to the university, while current students use them during sports or university events, and even when sharing their meals.
Making GIFs was a fun and creative experience. It helped me know how to make interactive and enjoyable art!
